Educational conference on restoration, prevention of damage and storage as an example of archaeological finds in Маrgiana

 

In the year «Turkmenistan - the Motherland of neutrality» the social and economic reforms carried out by the honourable President, to a large extent promote development of national culture, activization of popularization of history and a cultural heritage of the Turkmen people all over the world and strengthening of cultural relations between the states.

During the years of independence between Turkmenistan and Federal Republic of Germany is adjusted advantageous cooperation within the network of priority interstate relations. Within the network of effective Turkmen-German cultural negotiations it will be important step for the further long bilateral relations.

During 2017-2018 in cities of Europe, namely in Berlin, Hamburg and Mannheim of Federal Republic of Germany at the exhibition «Margiana – Kingdom of Bronze Age in the Territory of Turkmenistan» were shown the rare archaeological finds, which are kept in the State museum of State cultural centre of Turkmenistan for the first time. The exhibition in Germany became a result of advantageous cooperation of the Turkmen-German relations in the sphere of culture.

From the 13-th up to the 18-th of January 2020 at the State museum of State cultural centre of Turkmenistan with brief working visit were a deputy director of Berlin Museum of Ancient and Protohistory of Federal Republic of Germany Anton Gass and the head of a restoration workshop of the same museum Schmidt Reimann Philipp Sebastian for exchange of experience in restoration works. In the course visit has been carried out conference at the State museum of State cultural centre of Turkmenistan between German specialists and staff of provincial museums and Ashgabat city. At the conference German specialists have told a lot of interesting about impression, which was made on visitors of the exhibition  «Margiana – Kingdom of Bronze Age in the Territory of Turkmenistan» in Federal Republics Germany by the original exhibits of the ancient Turkmen kingdom which was lost in Kara kum, a life of ancient inhabitants of Margiana, their world outlook, traditions and appearance.

At this conference carried out at the State museum of State cultural centre of Turkmenistan by the specialists of the Berlin Museum of Ancient and Protohistory have been carried out theoretical and a practical training with staff of provincial museums and Ashgabat city «Department of Restoration» on careful storage of historical values, world experience of restoration and its historical origin, and prevention of damage of archaeological values. During meetings some have been restored ceramics and bronze articles from archaeological storehouse of the State museum.

This meeting promoted exchange of experience between staff of museums.
