Habits of centuries – an example for generations

The State Museum of the State Cultural Center of Turkmenistan invites those who wishes to the exhibition named «Habits of centuries – an example for generations», which will be held on the 22-th of February 2019 at 10:00.

Turkmenistan has rich five-thousand-year историческoе heritage, culture and ethnography. The State museum of the State cultural centre of Turkmenistan shows in halls of a constant exposition and keeps in storehouses production of applied arts, namely, national clothes, jewellery, carpet products and felt mats. The applied art of the Turkmen people has arisen deeply in ancient times. Patterns on ceramic tableware of late Stone Age, found as the result of archaeological excavation, are similar to modern patterns of carpets, clothes and jewellery. Ceramic tableware with patterns and decorated pieces of jugs and rich in patterns articles of applied arts are kept in the store-house of State museum of the State cultural centre of Turkmenistan and are researched from the scientific point of view. The clothes of the Turkmen people have age and ornamental distinctions. They include children's garments, garments of young girls and women, middle-aged and aged women and jewellery as well. Carpets and carpet products, embroidery and felt mats decorating the house of Turkmens have great value for the Turkmen people. They were widely used in everyday life.

At the prosperous epoch of the powerful state, thanks to effort of the honourable President, 2019 is named «Turkmenistan – the Motherland of prosperity» and it has awakened the Turkmen people. A lot of work is carried out in honour of this. In this connection at the State museum of the State cultural centre of Turkmenistan is organized an exhibition named «Habits of centuries – an example for generations». The exhibition begins with the wise words of the honourable President and here are exposed jewellery compositions.

Here are also exposed products of applied arts. Among them are located in turn: carpets and carpet products: mat bag, a bag, spindle bag, a bag for poles, saddlebag, adornments for a camel, adornments for the house, felt mats and felt mat product – a package made of felt mat, small round felt mats, jewellery – tumar, heykel, аcharbag, gulyaka, gulyaka with pendants, bracelets, bukav, dagdan, turkmen national clothes a – dress made of «keteni» cloth, red, green kurte, white, yellow, green capes, the big red kerchief, homespun shoes, articles of everyday life – wooden dish, wooden spoon, kumgan, a samovar, men's clothing, national knitted goods.

In Turkmenistan were carried out sweeping changes under the guidance of the honourable President. The creative policy of the leader of the nation allows to popularize history and culture of the Turkmen people among rising generation, the people and foreign guests by means of museum values.
