At the State Museum of the State Cultural Center of Turkmenistan took place an opening of the exhibition named «The holiday of abundance and conscientious work», devoted to the Harvest holiday.

The carrying out of «Kharman holiday» or «Harvest holiday» was practiced by Turkmens from time immemorial. The Harvest holiday was usually carried out in the autumn. Peasants prepared for the holiday thoroughly, they baked bread out of a flour of a new crop. There was a lot of food, the guests were given porridge cooked of groats of a new crop in wooden dishes.

At the prosperous epoch of the powerful state is also annually celebrated the Harvest holiday on last Sunday of November. It is a demonstration that the state attaches great value to the sphere of agriculture huge significance. «Harvest holiday is compliments paid to the honest labour of Turkmen daykhans at the state level» – points President of Turkmenistan.

At the State museum of the State cultural centre of Turkmenistan was also organized an exhibition «The holiday of abundance and conscientious work», devoted to harvest holiday. Here are exposed works of artists, documentary photos, carpets and carpet products, glorifying rich harvests of crop, cotton and other agricultural products grown in fertile Turkmen land, five saddle bags with cotton adorned with the patterns of five provinces, sheaves, embodying food abundance of Turkmen people, besides it photos of ancient Anau culture and national values, complete set of exhibits from the storehouses, labour tools and historical finds.

The exhibition was opened with the words of greeting by the manager of the State museum of the State cultural centre of Turkmenistan, candidate of historical science Ovezmukhammet Mammetnurov.

Then the floor was given to the senior lecturer of the faculty of cattle breeding of S.A.Nyyazov Turkmen Agricultural University Saparmyrat Annamukhamedov, agronomist-inspector of «Ak bugdaý» cotton-cleaning factory Myratberdi Chopanov, head of scientific division of «Тurkmengiprovodkhoz» Design Institute Gurbannyyaz Khommadov, leading research fellow of land melioration division of «Тurkmengiprovodkhoz» Design Institute Dovlet Nurmukhammedov, subeditor of «Garagum» magazine Nurtach Annamukhammedova, deputy editor-in chief of «Bereketli toprak» newspaper Aynabat Atayeva, main specialist of Publishing house of Turkmenistan Oguljemal Charyyeva, head of division of the Institute of Biology and medicinal plants of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan, candidate of biological science Pirli Kepbanow.

Daykhans of M.Sopyyev «Ak bugdaý» Agricultural cooperative association of Akhal province and the students of Turkmen architectural institute and Turkmen State Academy of Fine Arts were invited as the guests. The interesting reports were listened to the applause of those present.

The participants of the event acquainted the exhibition «The holiday of abundance and conscientious work» at the State museum and listened to the excursion of the workers of the museum.
