Sacred memory

 

The State Museum of the State Cultural Center of Turkmenistan invites those who wishes to the exhibition named «Sacred memory», devoted to the Memorial Day, which will be held on the 4-th of October 2018 at 15:00.

Terrible date of 6-th of October is mentioned as the Memorial Day for victims of disastrous earthquake of 1948. There have passed 70 years from that tragic event in the history of Turkmen nation but reminder of that disaster brings pain to the heart of every citizen of Turkmenistan.

Terrible earthquake at night from 5-th to 6-th of October 1948 has stopped life of tens of thousands inhabitants of capital and neighboring settlements. Because of this horrible earthquake, a number of settlements, dwelling houses, schools, plants and factories, hospitals, institutes, museums and cultural and historical monuments in Ashgabat and nearby were ruined. Many years have passed, as the result of fearlessness, courage, fortitude, persistent and inspired labour Ashgabat not only has been rebuilt, but it has turned into marble capital of independent neutral Turkmenistan, beautiful pearl of Orient and centre of reconciliation of our region.

Giant projects which are realized and give abundance to our people due to immeasurable care of our honourable President Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov, being constructed buildings, dwelling houses with all modern conveniences, new schools, kindergartens, sport, cultural and recreation centers change the view of our capital day to day. In our country is carried out strict observance of national traditions and customs due to the wise decision of our honourable President.

At the State museum of the State cultural centre of Turkmenistan is organized an exhibition named «Sacred memory», devoted to the Memorial Day. The exhibition consists of four parts and begins with the portrait and the wise words of hero Arkadag, carpet pictures with images of the grandfather of the honourable President.

In the first section of the exhibition is shown a view of Ashgabat city before the earthquake, streets, a market, a building of the State publishing house of Turkmenistan, a museum of the Fine Arts of Ashgabat city and railway station.

In the second part, named «Earthquake», are shown photos of Magtymguly Opera and ballet theatre of Ashgabat city, Gorky pedagogical institute, railway station, a building of the museum of Local Lore destroyed by the earthquake. The exhibition is continued by the picture of O.Mammetnurov «Anau mosque», where is depicted Seyitjemal-ad-Dyn mosque located 10 km eastward of Ashgabat before the earthquake and pictures «Ancient heritage», «Motive» and «Shades», where is shown period after the earthquake. This part of the exhibition is enriched by archaeological values. By means of the monitor are shown episodes of the earthquake. In show-cases there are also historical books containing various information.

In the third part «Help to inhabitants of Ashgabat» the basic place is given to the photos where are embodied soldiers and black-coated workers rescuing people who suffered from elements and courage of the workers of public health.

 In the fourth part «My white city of Ashgabat» is shown putting into operation of the state buildings of the enterprises, dwelling houses, the higher and secondary schools, the industrial enterprises, hotels, sports facilities, trading and business centres, highways, multiple-lane bridges and other constructions stimulating powerful development. The exhibition is finished with photos and the works of art showing a giant activity of the leader of the nation, who leads the country to the new development.
