Staff members of the State Museum of the State Cultural Center of Turkmenistan do not only promote the diverse cultural values displayed in the museum’s permanent exhibitions, but also regularly organize themed traveling exhibitions across kindergartens, secondary schools, higher education institutions, and children's recreation centers in the city of Ashgabat.
Today, on July 6, 2026, researchers from the State Museum organized an exhibition of museum artifacts titled "The Nature of Turkmenistan and National Values of the Turkmen People" at the "Nebitchi" Children's Health Center, located in Gokdere. The museum’s research staff shared fascinating insights with the children regarding the various species of animals, birds, and reptiles found in Turkmenistan, highlighting the unique aspects of their habitats and behavior.
The exhibition also showcased ancient carpet products that celebrate the national identity of the Turkmen people. Among them, the display was beautifully adorned with traditional torba and chuval travel bags, ikselik pouches, camel caparisons (khalyk), and other carpet products.
Ancient women's attire was also displayed during the exhibition. Among these garments, visitors could see "duypli gynach" capes, keteni silk dresses, green kurtes, and chyrpys, alongside various utensils used in the daily life of the ancient Turkmen people. The children listened to the stories about the exhibits with great enthusiasm. After the presentation, a bird-themed contest was held for the young vacationers, and the winners were presented with gifts.
The exhibition organized by the State Museum made a great impression on the schoolchildren. In turn, the children expressed their boundless gratitude to the Honorable President for providing all the opportunities to study, discover, and explore the traditions and customs of the Turkmen people, the country's magnificent nature, and its rich flora and fauna, as well as for creating the conditions to cherish and preserve this heritage as the apple of their eye.
