Novruz – holiday of a new day and renovation

Novruz holiday is one of the ancient holidays, which has arisen in the course of the history of mankind. Novruz means awakening of nature, coming of the spring, fair weather. Novruz is not only a holiday of human’s soul; it is also a holiday of all living, that exists in the nature. If we address to history, for the first time Novruz has been celebrated in Mesopotamia, namely by Sumer tribe. Sumers named this holiday “Akitil”. In language of Sumers the word “til” means “to be born anew”, to "live". This holiday, which has originated in ancient times has got in 2010 from the United Nations Organization the status of the international. Since this year, this holiday is celebrated at the international level as “International Novruz holiday”. In our hearts Novruz holiday is also associates with unanimity, unity, hospitality, enthusiasm, a peaceful life. The Turkmen people have some traditions connected with Novruz holiday. For this holiday by tradition is prepared the national dish "semeni". All food is distributed among the relatives or neighbours. All the people wish each other wellbeing and good luck. In the era of Revival of a new epoch of the powerful state in honour of International Novruz holiday at the State museum of the State cultural centre of Turkmenistan is also organised the festive exhibition named “Novruz – holiday of a new day and renovation”. At the exhibition are shown kept in storehouses of the State museum picture carpets glorifying a springtime of the Turkmen nature, works of artists, namely V.Maykovski “Novruz” and the young artist G.Yazmukhammedova "Flowers". Besides it, here are presented woman’s jewellery “ganatly egme”, “edamlyk”, “shelpeli gulyaka”, ”gursakcha”, “heykel”, four segment bracelets and others. In the course of the exhibition are presented sewed by Turkmen women green, yellow and white capes, embroidered skullcaps, knitted socks and many other things, which create harmony. The composition showing Turkmen yurta where is possible to see the women sifting a flour and preparing the main dish of Novruz holiday " semeni ", wheat shoots and bagshy is located in a sufficient place. The exhibition was opened with the words of greeting by the director of the State museum of the State cultural centre of Turkmenistan Meretgeldi Charyyev. Then the floor was given to the Honoured cultural worker of Turkmenistan Oguljemal Charyyeva, librarian of the State library of the State cultural centre of Turkmenistan, member of Ashgabat city Elder’s council Bibigozel Mammedova, teacher of the secondary school №14 of Ak bugdai district of Akhal region, laureate of Magtymguly youth prize Hemra Durdyyev, head of division of Ak bugdai district committee of Democratic Party of Turkmenistan Uzukjemal Yazmyradova. The speeches of the guests were very interesting. The guests acquainted with the exhibition named «Novruz – holiday of a new day and renovation» at the State museum of the State cultural centre of Turkmenistan.
