The exhibition is divided into three sections. The first section is devoted to the history of development of agriculture in our country. Revealing of first signs of settled agriculture in the Central Asia in the northwest of Ashgabat near Jeytun village is the important historical event. Archaeological finds found from ancient agricultural settlements, such as querns, a mortar with pestle, sickles, woman’s figurines as the symbol of fertility and object of worship of farmers found in Margush are presented in the first section of the exhibition. As a result of excavation under the guidance of the American scientific R.Pampelli in 1904 on hills of Anau have been found grains of white wheat, which concerning the fourth millenium B.C. This is the reason that the Turkmen earth is considered to be the home of white wheat. Here you may see a valuable exhibit - imprints of grain of white wheat on gypsum.
The second section is devoted to the development of agriculture in Turkmenistan in 30-50-s of the ХХ century. In the photos of those years is shown cotton plantation, women cotton pickers, the first tractor, excited moment of harvest and selfless labour of rural workers. In the course of the second section you can see labour tools of that period and exhibits concerning agriculture.
In the course of the exposition are exposed works of artists, panel carpets, saddlebags with cotton, sheaves of white wheat, jewellert compositions personifying food abundance of the Turkmen people and glorifying achievements in agriculture during the years of Independence of our country. Watermelons, melons and gourds and vegetables presented here are the main theme of the exhibition.
The exhibition was conducted by the head of cultural and enlightener department of the State museum of the State cultural centre of Turkmenistan Durdymyrat Atdayev. In the auguration participated head of grain crops and leguminous plants seed growing division of scientific production agricultural centre of Turkmenistan, candidate of agricultural science Guljemal Tailakova, the main officer of National institute of Desert, the vegetable and animal worlds of the Ministry of agriculture and environmental protection, candidate of biological science Ejebai Kokanova, lecturer of silkworm breeding and vegetation protection of Turkmen S.A.Nyyazov agricultural institute Myratberdi Chopanov, specialist of Organization and political activity division of Ashgabat city committee of Agrarian party of Turkmenistan Akjemal Sukhanova, research officer of National institute of Desert, the vegetable and animal worlds of the Ministry of agriculture and environmental protection Maral Sakhatova, research officer of scientific production agricultural centre of Turkmenistan Maksat Rоzyyev, subeditor of “Garagum” magazine Nurtäç Annamuhammedowa, subeditor of “Ahal durmuşy” newspaper Durnabat Ashyrova, lecturer of ecology head of Turkmen S.A.Nyyazov agricultural institute Maral Orazova.
Very interesting reports were met with applause.
The guests get acquainted with the exhibition named “The abundance of generous land” and listened to the speeches of museum staff.
