At the State Museum of the State Cultural Center of Turkmenistan was organized an exhibition entitled «The role of felt art in the heritage of the Turkmen people».

 Rich and multifaceted applied arts of Turkmen people include carpet weaving, jewelry, and national costumes, as well as felt and felt products. The life and life of the people is reflected in the fine arts of the Turkmen people.

One of the handicrafts that has come one after another and has come down to our day is the flowery felt of our homes, our weddings. The fine art created by Turkmen women has become a national pride of our people and is in line with the development of our time.

Felt making has also been a tradition since ancient times. Turkmen felt is distinguished by its beauty, strength and vitality. Turkmen felt is very important in the life of our people. The health benefits of pure wool are unique. It’s not just our parents who take this bed to the level of art. Felt is not just a bed. The «clothes» of the Turkmen White House were also made of felt.

An exhibition entitled «The role of felt art in the heritage of the Turkmen people» was organized at the State Museum of the State Cultural Center of Turkmenistan. The exhibition begins with a photo of our esteemed President and a valuable speech about our cultural heritage.

At this exhibition are presented felt mats other and felt mat products of five provinces decorated with national ornaments from storehouse «Material values» and other subjects concerning manufacturing of felt mat as well. In the course ofexhibition it is possible to see some works of the People’s Artist of Turkmenistan O.Mammetnurov devoted to manufacturing of felt mat.

The exhibition was opened with the words of greeting by the manager of the State Museum of the State Cultural Center of Turkmenistan, candidate of historical science Ovezmukhammet Mammetnurov. Then the floor was given to the Honoured cultural worker of Turkmenistan, poetess Oguljemal Charyyeva, leading research officer of Magtymguly institute of Language, literature and national manuscripts of Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan, candidate of philological science Tazegul Khapyzova, lecturer of the Academy of Fine Arts of Turkmenistan Jeren Baltayeva, I degree librarian of the State library of the State Cultural Center of Turkmenistan, the Honoured cultural worker of Turkmenistan Oguljemal Orazdurdyyeva, specialist of the department of Culture and multimedia of Ashgabat city council of Magtymguly Youth organization of Turkmenistan Shaperi Orazova and subeditor of «Garagum» magazine Nurtch Annamukhammedova.
