Every day of the prosperous epoch of the powerful state is marked by the big successes, achievements and holidays. One of the most ancient holidays of the world Novruz takes a special place in cultural development of all mankind. This a holiday is widely celebrated by the world community during the spring transformation of the nature. Novruz holiday, which has taken in original age-old traditions, is filled today with the new maintenance, is recognized at the international level by an integral part of a cultural and spiritual heritage of mankind.
As a result of tireless care of the honourable President Novruz holiday is included into the list of a non-material heritage of UNESCO and at the United Nations General Assembly has been awarded the international status, as a holiday strengthening peaceful relations between the states and popularizing historical and cultural traditions of the people.
National Novruz day is celebrated in tens of countries of the world. Our ancestors considered Novruz to be a sign on updating, the beginning of a new life, met it as coming of happiness and prosperity. The word Novruz means “New day” and is celebrated as New year from high antiquity.
The national holiday of spring, timed to Novruz day, became not only a holiday of nature, but a holiday gloryfying harmonious relations between people, brotherhood and friendship as well.
At the State museum of the State cultural centre of Turkmenistan was organized an exhibition named “Novruz – Holiday of Peace and Humanism” devoted to Novruz holiday. In this solemnity participated scientists, creative personalities and poets. The exhibition was opened by the manager of the State museum of the State cultural centre of Turkmenistan Meretgeldi Charyyev with the words of greeting.
Then the floor was given to the deputy director of the institute of History and archaeology of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan, candidate of historical science Handurdy Gurbanov, correspondent-in-chief of “Bereketli toprak” newspaper, poetess Altyn Bayramdurdyyeva, deputy director of museum of Fine Arts of Turkmenistan Kakilik Ovezberdiyeva executive secretary of “Türkmen dünýäsi” newspaper, Honoured journalist of Turkmenistan Dovrangeldi Agalyyev, research officer of the National institute of Desert, the vegetable and animal worlds of the Ministry of agriculture and environmental protection of Turkmenistan Maral Sakhatowa and chairman of trade union committee of the State cultural centre of Turkmenistan Tаchsoltan Kakajanova.
