Educational conference and exhibition devoted to children’s holidays
Our ancestors named hair of the newborn child “akika”. For the sake of his birth in gratitude to Lord in the Highest, sacrificed a ram and named it “akika kurban”. It is possible to carry out akika kurban from the date of the birth of the child up to his age of majority, but celebration on the seventh day of birth is considered to be the best. Our ancestors read azan (an appeal to a pray) to the right ear of the born child kamat (an appeal to an obligatory pray) – to the left, gave him a name and, having cut hist hair on a head, sacrificed gold or silver by weight of hair. That day was also killed one sacrificial ram. It was made both for the newborn boy, and for the girl. It was considered enough to kill one ram. There were cases when two rams were killed for the boy.
Bones of a ram were not cut, only joints were uncoupled and cooked in such way to let the child be healthy and normally developed. However, there were cases when bones were cut into pieces and it frightened off all bad things from the child. It means that everything was for the sake of good.
Meat of a sacrificial ram could eat the man who killed it, it was also treated with everybody.
Besides it, our ancestors also solemnly celebrated other holidays connected with the various periods in a life of the child - occurrence of the first tooth, the first haicut and circumcision. Studying of the traditions connected with children's holidays, their development according to modern requirements is of great importance for spiritual riches of the people.
